Great Tours Customer Terms of Service

This Agreement sets forth the terms and conditions between Great Tours SRL (Great Tours) and users who use our services to book tours and travel services ("You"). This Agreement explains how you book tours and travel services and specifically limits the liability of  Great Tours.
 

Before making a booking at Great Tours we encourage you to read these Terms and Conditions carefully, as they constitute a contract agreement between Great Tours and you from the time the booking is made. The person who makes the booking accepts these conditions on behalf of all the people in the group and is responsible for all payments due.

 

1. Our tours

There are two (2) types of tours we offer: Standard tours and Private tours.

Standard tours run on a regular schedule as indicated in their description. Depending on the number of participants we have standard tours operated with cars/minibuses or coaches. When booking a standard tour you acknowledge the fact that you will have your own seat and will be travelling together with other tourists. As the vehicle is following an itinerary in order to pick-up clients from other hotels or addresses, minor delays in the pick-up time caused by multiple stops give rise to no debate or claim.

Our tours are organized in the days and within the opening hours of the visited sites (castles, palaces, monuments, museums, etc) and we do our best to ensure that they will be open for visitors at the moment you arrive, but we are not responsible in case these sites are closed for visitors due to unforeseen reasons and without prior notice while the tour is taking place.

Private tours are organized at client’s request. In this case you will not travel with other tourists in the same vehicle and you will be the only beneficiary of the services. If you book a private tour you will be picked up from the hotel or address you have indicated when you made the booking at the time mentioned in your confirmation.

2. Booking a tour

You must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking. You agree to provide full, complete and accurate information to Great Tours. Once you have submitted your booking and personal details through www.greattours.ro, you will receive a confirmation of your booking via e-mail. If you fail to provide us a valid mobile number and an e-mail address we can contact you at, we do not take any responsibility for notifying you about possible changes of the tour. It is your responsibility to check the accuracy of your booking and travel dates.

Our day tours can be booked online up to 12 hours prior to tour departure.

3. Payment terms

All Prices quoted on Great Tours are in euros (€) and per person, unless otherwise specified. All payments and refunds are due in euros. We accept payments with credit or debit cards through PayPal system. Currency conversion fees may apply. Great Tours is not responsible for any changes in currency exchange rates that might occur from the time of booking until a refund is made.

When booking online, you are requested to pay a deposit of 10 euros of the total price of the tour and the remaining amount to be paid in person, on the day of departure.

Some bookings or prices are dependent on the number of participants and if this applies to your tour arrangements you will be notified by us at the time of booking. We reserve the right to make further charges where numbers fall below those required to qualify for the discount offered or price otherwise appropriate. We also reserve the right to cancel such a booking in the event that numbers fall below the required number at any time up to 1 day prior to your due date of departure.

4. Changes (you make)

It is possible to change a reservation up to 72 hours prior to tour departure free of charge.​

If you want to make any other change to your booking later than 72 hours prior to tour departure, we will try but cannot promise to meet your request. On some occasions, if members of a group booking withdraw, there are fixed costs which mean the remaining travelling party must pay more per person. We require your authority in writing before we can make any change. In the event that any change is requested in relation to a group booking we require the authority in writing of the booking name before we can make the change.

5. Changes (we make)

We will take reasonable care to deliver the tour that we are contracted to provide to you. As we put in place the arrangements necessary to enable us to offer our range of tours, we may occasionally have to make changes and reserve the right to do so at any time.

We may make some minor changes to your tour from time to time. These are not considered to be major changes and thus we are not obligated to compensate you. Minor changes include varying or modifying your travel itinerary either in part or wholly, changing the type of transport or transfer vehicle. If this is necessary, we will substitute alternative arrangements of comparable value or even provide a full or partial refund at our discretion. We will try to inform you of any changes we have to make as soon as reasonably possible prior to your due departure date although we are not obliged to do so.

We will not pay compensation or accept any liability where any change is due to circumstances outside of our reasonable control, including (without limitation) any strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action; labour disputes; acts of God; war; riot; civil commotion; malicious damage; compliance with any law or governmental order, rule regulation or direction; impossibility of the use of any means of public or private transport or any action of any government or regulatory body; accident; break-down of plant and machinery; fire; flood or storm; other adverse weather conditions (including heavy rainfall, hail, snow, fog or frost) affecting any airport, port or any other transport link, embarkation or disembarkation point and their operation; flight delays; other matters affecting air traffic control (including failure of equipment, systems and software); siege; acts of terrorism; police or security alerts or precautionary measures taken.

Under no circumstances can we be held responsible for any delay, deviation or cancellation due to weather conditions, nor can any tour be cancelled or amended by you at any time on the basis of weather conditions. We will try, where possible, to find suitable alternatives or can defer your tour to another date in the future.

6. Cancellation Policy

 

  • Cancellation until 72 hours prior to the tour gives you a 100% refund of the deposit amount.

  • Cancellation later than 72 hours days prior to the tour is not refundable.

 

In rare circumstances we might have to modify or altogether cancel a tour due to operational reasons or lack of participants. You will be informed as early as possible. In this case you will receive a full refund or the right to switch to an alternative tour or alternative departure for the reserved tour.

7. Responsibilities

a. You are responsible for ensuring that any existing medical conditions or disabilities which may require assistance are declared to us before you book your tour.

​b. You are responsible for your behavior and that of your party. We reserve the right to refuse your booking or the right to travel and to remove you and/or any member of your party from any transport or any part of the trip if you or any member of your party is drunk or under the influence of drink or drugs; if you are or we reasonably believe that you are in unlawful possession of drugs; or are behaving violently, disruptively, dangerously or irresponsibly or in any manner whatsoever which presents a risk to others or is causing a nuisance or annoyance to others. No refund will be given or compensation paid and no costs or expenses for which you become liable or which are incurred by you will be made by us or be recoverable by you from us in such circumstances. You may also become the subject of police inquiry or security measures or investigation and liable in the event that any offence is committed to criminal prosecution and penalties. You must fully cooperate with and follow any safety procedures and instructions given by any organisation which is running the activities which you do while on tour. It is possible that such organisations will require you to sign a waiver form in respect of the activity being carried out. We cannot accept liability for the behavior of others on your trip nor if any of the facilities or activities are curtailed as a result of their actions.

c. You are responsible for meeting your group representative at the allotted time and place. If you are late for a pick-up we have the right to leave without you or your party and will not be held accountable. You are obliged to stay with tour at all times. Separation from the group can result in being left behind and in cases where the group leader is unable to find you, ‘rescue fee’ will be at customers expense.

d. If you have a medical emergency, you must notify your travel insurance providers.

e. During the tour, we may sometimes take photographs and films of you. These may subsequently used in our advertising or marketing materials, used on the website, the blog or across our social media platforms. If you do not consent us to use such materials, it is your responsibility to inform us in writing prior to the start of your tour.

f. If you are at the pick-up point at the time agreed and cannot find our driver/vehicle or you cannot find the meeting point, please contact us as soon as possible on the phone number received in the confirmation mail.

g. Please notice that smoking, eating and alcohol drinking are forbidden at the board of vehicle.

h. Pets or any other animal are not permitted on board.

i. If you have any special requirements (dietary or otherwise) you must inform us of these at the time of booking so that we can pass these onto our suppliers. We cannot guarantee that your requirements will be met, however, and we are not liable to you in the event that your wishes are not met.

j. We cannot accept any responsibility for delays reasonable or unavoidable, caused by the nature of our services (e.g. traffic conditions).

8. Complaints

If you would like to complain about a problem you encountered with the service provided, please inform us by sending an e-mail. We will endeavor to investigate the matter and notify you about our decision. Please note that any complaints must be received in writing to our e-mail address within 15 days of the return booking date. Failure to notify us of your complaint within 15 days does largely affect our ability to investigate the matter complained of, and therefore we cannot accept complaints for services later than 15 days. Please note that our liability for services unfulfilled is limited to the fee paid.

9. Data protection

When booking a tour we collect certain personal details from you. These include, where applicable, the names, addresses and telephone numbers of passengers, credit/debit card or other payment details and special requirements such as those relating to any disability or medical condition which may affect the chosen booking. In order to process your order we may share your information with our suppliers or other involved third party. We will provide only the personally identifiable information necessary to ensure the successful fulfillment of your travel arrangements.

Where you provide us with personal details relating to any special requirements and/or details of any illnesses, disabilities, you consent to this information being passed onto any organisation or companies responsible for any part of your travel arrangements. We will not pass any information on to any company and/or organisation not responsible for providing any part of your travel arrangements.

The information may also be provided to the authorities as required by law.

If you make a successful booking with us, we are entitled to assume you do not object to our doing any of the things mentioned above, even without notifying you in advance; unless you tell us otherwise in writing.

10. Marketing

You agree that, while participating in any tour, images, photos or videos may be taken by other participants or Great Tours representatives that may contain or feature you. You consent to any such pictures being taken and grants a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable license to Great Tours, its contractors, sub-contractors and assigns, to reproduce for any purpose whatsoever (including marketing, promotions and the creation of promotional materials by or with sub-licensees), in any medium whatsoever, whether currently known or hereinafter devised, without any further obligation or compensation payable to you.

11. Applicable Law

This contract between us will be governed by Romanian Law and any dispute will be resolved exclusively by the Romanian courts. These terms do not affect your statutory rights.

12. Updates

Our Terms of Service are updated from time to time. The terms and conditions which will apply to your holiday are those on our website at the time of booking. There may be additional terms and conditions that apply to our special offers, promotions and discounts from time to time. These will be notified to you at the time of booking should you inform us that you would like to take advantage of them.
